“A PHOTOGRAPHIC CADENZA- THE ART OF LIVE PERFORMANCE” BY ROB GARLAND COMES TO THE PARAMOUNT THEATER ON FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 5

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (August 26, 2008) - The Paramount Theater is proud to hold a special showcase featuring the works of house photographer Rob Garland on Friday September 5 from 5:00pm-7:00pm.

Live performance photography is as unique as the art of performance itself. With a camera, one is given the challenge of capturing a moment with a subject that will never be repeated. The photographer is essentially preserving a unique piece of history with each click of the shutter.

"I have selected work that brought out each performer’s personality coupled with the unique lighting that performance art often carries with it. This work is not staged or fictionalized- pure elements of spontaneity under dramatic conditions exist in each piece." - Rob Garland
