Just in time for the start of the holiday season, the world-class Moscow Boys Choir© will bring their distinctly Russian blend of heavenly soprano and rich bass, tenor, and baritone voices to a seasonally-themed concert at The Paramount Theater on Friday, November 25 at 7:30 pm.

Founded in 1957, the ensemble is among Russia's most prestigious all-boy choirs. Members of the choir attend a special school called The Moscow Boys Capella, which provides both general education and musical training. The boys traditionally begin their life in music as early as age five, but are not allowed to perform for audiences until they are nine years old. Being selected as a member of the touring ensemble is not easy. Handpicked from over 400 students at their school in Moscow, these highly talented youngsters may have the "voices of angels," but they must also have the professional discipline to match their musical gifts. The Choir performs world-wide, and has completed successful tours to Germany, Italy, Belgium, Holland, Poland, England, and the United States.

This season, the Choir is presenting a special holiday program of music from around the world. Audiences will be musically transported to far away places as the Choir showcases classic songs of the season. Much of the music is sung in the language of origin. Featured are favorites from previous Moscow Boys Choir tours, including excerpts from Handel's Messiah and holiday treats such as "The Twelve Days of Christmas," "Silver Bells," and the Choir's hauntingly beautiful rendition of "Silent Night."

Tickets to the November 25 Paramount concert are still available. Cost is $30, $27, and $24. Youth/Child prices of $27, $24, and $21 are being offered to those 18 and younger. Tickets are available online or through The Paramount's Box Office at 434.979.1333.
