Second Yo-Yo Ma Performance at Paramount

Today The Paramount announced that a second performance featuring the legendary Yo-Yo Ma with the Silk Road Ensemble has been added to the theater's 2005-2006 season. The new performance will be on Thursday, February 23, 2006 at 8 pm. The cellist's original Paramount performance sold out of regularly-priced tickets in about two hour's time when the season went on sale in July 2005.

"Due to the great demand and the community's extreme interest in this artist, we've been in the process of negotiating a second show with Yo-Yo Ma and the Silk Road Ensemble since the summer," said Chad Hershner, Executive Director. "We know that many who were not able to get tickets the first time were disappointed, and we're happy to be able to come through with a second performance."

The theater's Box Office has been maintaining a waiting list of Yo-Yo Ma hopefuls since the summer, and is currently in the process of contacting those customers. Tickets to the performance will open up to Paramount Theater Members not on the waiting list on Monday, December 12, and to the general public on Monday, December 19. Anyone who is not currently a Member of The Paramount may join during the Member sales period and take advantage of early purchasing.

Tickets for the new February 23 concert are $100, $75, and $50. In addition, a limited number of Patron tickets are available to the original February 24 performance, which is also The Paramount Theater Foundation's Winter Gala.
