For Immediate Release

January 15, 2007

Colin Mochrie and Brad SherwoodHilarious, zany, and energetic, Colin Mochrie and Brad Sherwood have had audiences in stitches for years on ABC’s enormously successful Whose Line Is It Anyway?  Now the two stars of the Emmy-nominated series have teamed up to present an evening of extraordinary improvisational comedy.  The duo promise to deliver all of the barely-controlled insanity their fans have come to know and love in two shows at The Paramount Theater on Saturday, January 27 at 6:30 and 9 pm.

These performances are sponsored by the David & Colleen Martin family and the David and Margaret Pratt family.  Special Media Sponsors are WAHU Fox 27 Charlottesville and 97.5 3WV Everything That Rocks!

The public’s overwhelming response to Whose Line Is It Anyway? -- which can be seen over fifteen times a week on Comedy Central and ABC Family  -- first prompted Mochrie and Sherwood to take their show on the road in 2002.  Using only their lightning-fast wit and suggestions from the audience, the pair creates two hours of original and increasingly absurd scenes.   Truly an interactive show, no one present is safe as audience members are brought up on stage to participate in the fun.

Colin Mochrie began his improv career when he was first introduced to and teamed up with Ryan Stiles. Shortly after doing Expo '86, Colin moved to Toronto, where he auditioned for The Second City, where Stiles was working at the time. Mochrie worked in The Second City for three years, and first appeared on the British version of Whose Line is it Anyway? in 1991.  Now a popular mainstay on the American Whose Line stage, Mochrie tours with the “Improv All-Stars” in addition to his regular performances with Brad Sherwood.  He has also been busy appearing in commercials as the Nabisco Snack Fairy.

Also a regular cast member on both the British and American versions of Whose Line Is It Anyway? Brad Sherwood has credits including The Drew Carey Show, The Green Screen Show, made over 100 appearances on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, performed numerous times on VH-1’s I Love The 80’s’ & 90’s, and been the guest host for E!’s Talk Soup. Sherwood’s other credits include a season on LA Law, To Tell The Truth, and The Newz, hosting The New Dating Game, and performing with Drew Carey, Ryan Stiles, and others as a member of the “Improv All-Stars.”

Tickets for An Evening with Colin Mochrie and Brad Sherwood on Saturday, January 27 at 6:30 and 9 pm are $75, $54, $51, and $48.   Students of all ages may obtain half-price student rush tickets at the Box Office with a valid ID 45 minutes prior to curtain.  Group discounts are also available.

Tickets are available online or through The Paramount’s Box Office at 434.979.1333.
