Ease on down the yellow brick road and relive all the magic of this beloved musical! When Harlem schoolteacher Dorothy tries to save her dog from a storm, she’s miraculously whisked away to an urban fantasy land called Oz. After accidentally killing the Wicked Witch of the East upon her arrival, Dorothy is told about the Wiz, a wizard who can help her get back to Manhattan. As Dorothy goes in search of the Wiz, she’s joined by the Scarecrow, the Tin Man, and the Cowardly Lion. Featuring spectacular musical numbers and an all-star cast, it’s an experience of the land of Oz unlike anything you’ve seen before!

Did you know?

  • Original director John Badham stepped down when he objected to 33-year-old Diana Ross being cast as a teenage Dorothy. The character was changed to a 24-year-old kindergarten teacher, but by then Sidney Lumet had already replaced Badham.
  • Ted Ross reprised his role as the Cowardly Lion from the 1974 Broadway production.
  • Quincy Jones is the pianist in the Emerald City sequence, but Richard Tee plays piano on the soundtrack.
