Cville Band Presents: Summer at The Paramount

The Charlottesville Band closes out the 2025 Summer Season at The Paramount Theater with a bang, and also with a number of guest artists! Vocalists Rebecca Ewing and Jessica Wiseman will sing a pair of classical arrangements, violinist David McCormick will play “Theme from Schindler’s List” and “Fantasy on a Fiddle Tune” with the Band, and fan favorite Doug Schneider returns to sing “Dream a Little Dream” and “I Am the Very Model of a Modern Major General.” We’ll also have some terrific Band pieces and close our summer with Sousa’s “Stars and Stripes Forever.”
Come close out the summer season with an evening at The Paramount with your family and friends!
This is a free event and does not require advance registration. Please contact the Box Office Monday through Friday from 10:00AM to 2:00PM or call 434-979-1333 if you have questions about attending.
About the Artists

Rebecca Ewing, a native of New England, studied voice at the Hartt School of Music and performed in both the operatic and musical theater genres for many years throughout the Northeast. Since moving to the Charlottesville area, she has sung with the Ash Lawn Opera Festival, the Oratorio Society, Plena Voce, and is currently a member of The Virginia Consort.

Jessica Wiseman is thrilled to be back on stage with The Charlottesville Band! A longtime supporter of local non-profits and performing organizations, Jessica is honored to be a part of the vibrant community music scene represented here tonight. Life is better when folks have access to music and art – to make it, to experience it, to love it. We are fortunate to have the excellent Charlottesville Band offering free (and fantastic!) music to everyone in our community.

David McCormick is a multi-instrumentalist, scholar, and educator recognized for curating imaginative performances, creating educational opportunities for students of all ages, and guiding prominent arts organizations through the challenges of our time. David is executive director of Early Music America, where he is working to create a more inclusive, equitable space for all who engage with historical performance. As artistic director of Virginia-based Early Music Access Project, David plays baroque violin and vielle and transforms thoughtful research into dynamic programming. David is a founding member of medieval ensemble Alkemie, with whom he has appeared at Indianapolis Early Music Festival, Music Before 1800, Amherst Early Music Festival, and the Berkeley Festival. He is a 2017 recipient of Shenandoah Conservatory’s Rising Stars Alumni Award and a 2020 Fellow of the Robert H. Smith International Center for Jefferson Studies.

Doug Schneider is a local actor/singer/vocal instructor. He has been a performer in Charlottesville for over 30 years and has appeared in many productions at Heritage Theatre Festival (now Virginia Theatre Festival), Four County Players, Richmond Triangle Players, HATTheatre in Richmond, New Lyric Theatre, The Hamner Theater, and Live Arts. Doug has been a frequent guest singer with The Charlottesville Band and loves performing with this amazing group of musicians.
